AsiaPay is partnering with Protect Group to offer merchants across Asia Refund Protect — an innovative service that allows customers to upgrade their bookings (such as event tickets, travel packages, or hotel stays) to become refundable during checkout, with enhanced refund terms built directly into the payment process.
Customers can enjoy complete peace of mind: if they are unable to attend or use the service due to unforeseen circumstances — such as illness, adverse weather, home emergencies, or travel disruptions — they are eligible for a refund. Protect Group manages the entire refund process promptly and professionally.
How is it different from insurance and how does it work?
Unlike traditional insurance, Refund Protect safeguards a specific booking or ticket against cancellation. It integrates seamlessly into the PesoPay payment page. During checkout, customers will see the “Refund Protect” option. Once selected, they are redirected to Protect Group’s AI-driven platform, which provides personalised, real-time pricing and content. Customers can add the protection to their purchase instantly — an effortless choice for peace of mind.
How It Works – Payment Flow
1. Enable the Service
During checkout, customers can enable “Add Purchase Protection” under Additional Services. This triggers a modal popup showing the refundable booking details.
2. Review Modal Details
The popup outlines benefits including coverage for Accident & Illness, Pre-Existing Medical Conditions, Document Theft, Transport Failure, Home Emergency, and more. The cost to make the booking refundable starts from as little as $0.10.
3. Confirmation
Customers simply select “Make My Booking Refundable” to add the service, or choose “No Thanks” to continue without it.
Refund Process
Protect Group handles all refund requests and customer service related to Refund Protect. They communicate directly with customers, assess claims based on their protection policy, and process any eligible refunds — removing the need for merchant involvement entirely.
